ACAP Residency Week - a free program to experience college, explore accounting, and expand your horizons.

What is residency week?

During Residency Week, participants are immersed in the college experience as they stay overnight at the University of Washington for a week, experiencing campus and learning about student life, academics, and the many opportunities offered on campus. Participants hear from and interact with campus and industry professionals about life on campus, about applying to college and pursuing accounting and business-related majors, and about the opportunities and realities of working in the accounting field after college. Residency week also introduces students to the accounting profession through off-campus meetings, events, and visits to major accounting firms and local businesses.

In past years, other Residency Week events have included a business case competition, mock interview practice, resume and LinkedIn profile building, training in data management and analysis, networking sessions, and seminars on leadership, ethics, and prepping for college. Events throughout the week are led by accounting professionals, University of Washington faculty and staff, ACAP counselors, and ACAP alumni and board members.

All participants have the opportunity to be matched with a mentor from the accounting field during Residency Week, and that mentorship relationship is available to them for an entire year – or more – following the program.
